Who We Are
Solluna Builders, LLC is a builder and remodeler in Austin, Texas, and surrounding communities — Dripping Springs, Driftwood, Wimberley, Bastrop, Round Rock, Georgetown.
Known as a long-time green building advocate in central Texas, we’re passionate about helping our clients build the green, sustainable home of their dreams.
Company president Wayne Jeansonne – a Graduate Master Builder — was building green homes long before it was the cool thing to do. He is recognized for his knowledge, years of experience, and ongoing efforts to mentor the industry to a more sustainable path and to protect our quality of life.
Our satisfied clients quickly learn they can count on our common-sense approach and the unsurpassed quality of our work. They appreciate our thorough, methodical approach and our detailed planning, leaving nothing to chance. In fact, we’re often asked to tackle complex problems others can’t figure out.
Cutting-edge and old-fashioned, too. While we’re at the forefront of high-performance building science, our clients are gratified to discover we’re pretty old fashioned when it comes to hands-on customer service. You’ll appreciate our organized team approach and our personal one-on-one style of communication. Most of our clients want to be closely involved in their projects, and we want it that way too.
Founder and president Wayne Jeansonne has green roots that go back a ways. He led the Green Builder program at American YouthWorks beginning in 1999. It was on-the-job training for
students and a busy R&D center for new, exciting materials and techniques. “We tried it all — different kinds of insulation, modular wall systems, insulated concrete forms, structural insulated panels, straw bale, cob, optimal framing techniques, metal roofs. We found out what works and what doesn’t work here in central Texas.”
When Wayne started Solluna Builders in 2002, his goal was to build comfortable, healthy, high-performance homes. “It’s the right thing to do.”
A popular speaker and consultant, Wayne uses his experience as a Realtor to help you choose features and materials that increase the value of your property. Choose Solluna Builders, and you’ll enjoy his practical, common-sense approach.
Wayne had a blast filming an episode of the Greenovate TV show about a 5-star-rated green home he built in east Austin. An avid motorcycl
ist, Wayne taught motorcycle safety for six years. He studies bass guitar and plays in a garage band – hey, it’s Austin; everybody’s in a band.
Mary Simon, Vice President and Business Manager, manages the business and finances and works closely with clients projects during planning, estimating, and the build project. She spent 25 years in high-tech product development, where she was a planner, project manager, and information designer for large-scale projects. “There were lots of moving parts and many many players, plus deadlines, budgets, stakeholders, and constant changes. Lots to juggle. I was keeper of the big picture.”
Mary can bang out boogie-woogie on the piano, sings with a chorus, and loves getting dirty in the garden.
“Solluna” is a combination of the Spanish words for sun and moon — el sol y la luna.
