My sister and I live in a beautiful home we call Blissful Oaks. We knew that we wanted to build a “green” house. We did lots of research and felt we were ready to proceed. We started calling some of the green builders.”
Process
The beautiful property is forested by enormous live oaks and has abundant wildflowers, birds, critters, and a resident road runner. Because it’s conservancy land, great care was taken with site layout to minimize disruption and to preserve trees. The home was designed to be comfortable, energy efficient, and easy to maintain. At 3,500 square feet of indoor space, there’s room for guests, future caretakers, and ample storage. Each sister has her own master suite. One sister has a private office, the other has a cheerful craft room. Pets have the run of the place, so the homeowners chose stained concrete floors for easy maintenance.
